Casting Guidelines:
Below outlines the basic guideline that will be used for casting the Ice Show. The following will be considered:
Numbers:
CanSkate1, CanSkate2 & A session skaters - will be cast based on a combination of Session (not day) & badge level as of time of casting (Dec 2011). CanSkate1, CanSkate2 & A session skaters will only be able to sign up for 1 number in the show.
B to E session skaters - will be cast according to session (as of October Test Day). Numbers may consist of 2 levels if necessary. B to E session skaters are eligible for 2 numbers in the show. Only skaters qualifying for gold court may use this as a 3rd number or as one of their 2 numbers.
Placement is FINAL and will not be changed as costume materials have already been purchased and construction of packages and costumes have begun.
FEATURES: As of the 2011 Ice Show the casting of the featured positions will be based on skaters results at competitions. Skater 2 best competitons will be counted between SEPTEMBER 2011 and JANUARY 2012. Skaters will be given points for their placements in the competitions.
Competitive skaters will be given consideration for Features based on number of skaters and levels.
FEATURED SOLOS: Sr. Bronze Level and higher in Freeskate (pairs or singles) and Silver Level and higher in Interpretive.
FEATURED DUETS/TRIOS/FOURS: Jr. Bronze Level & lower in Freeskate (pairs or singles) and Bronze Level & lower in Interpretive.
The above criteria for designating Soloists and Duets/Trios/Fours has been in place since the club has implemented Duets/Trios/Fours (since before 2005).
GOLD COURT will include all gold level skaters in
freeskate, dance and interpretive (requirements for this number will be based upon the skaters levels).
There is a maximum of one feature per skater.
Final decision regarding casting will be at the discretion of the Artistic Directors and Ice Show Committee. The committee has the right to alter the criteria for casting to uphold the integrity and artistic direction of the show.
Costume Information:
This year the committee has contracted Brigitte Lacasse as the Costume Coordinator. As Coordinator she (and her committee) will now be in charge of everything from costume design to production of costume kits and ready made costumes (see below). When you register for Ice Show you will choose one of two options:

All kits will be picked up in the club office during office hours.
You will be given the pieces to the costume with instructions. It will be the parents’ responsibility to have the costume made by picture day.
Ready Made Costumes
For the ready made costumes, parents will be contacted by the Costume Coordinator to arrange for fittings.
The full costume will be made available to you on picture day, Saturday Apr 14.
The ready made costumes will be completed for the skater by picture day by Brigitte and her committee.
