This is a new program starting at East York for the 08/09 season. It is an open session (i.e. there are no strict qualifications however we recommend that skaters have passed at least 1 Skate Canada test). To take part in this program the skater must fulfil one of the following criteria:
- An adult skater 21 years of age or older
- A member of the East York Skating Club
- Any current Skate Canada Member of another club
Skaters may sign up in the morning and take a membership package out for the season. The following are the packages that are offered:
- 2-day at a cost of $300 for the season
- 1-day at a cost of $200 for the season
- 10 pack morning ticket ice pass at a cost of $90 (which can be used at any time)
Skaters who do not sign up for one of the above packages can pay as they go (i.e. Guest Skate). Skaters doing this will be required to sign up 24 hours in advance in the club office and pay prior to taking the ice.
TimesThe times for the morning ticket ice are the following:
- Tuesdays 7 to 8 am
- Thursdays 7 to 8 am
From time to time during the season we will conduct seminars (i.e. competition simulations). These will be open to the entire membership based on availability.
CoachingThere will be no group lessons given. There will be a coach on site to take any payments and attendance for those who take out memberships. Skaters who are on A session at East York and would like to skate, will have to arrange this with their private coach.
